Freelancing is not all about selling your skill, its mainly the time management and efficiency that counts more. Many people are confuse with time management and often work at home like a nine to five job. If you are working like this than there is not need to leave your job because you are not doing the freelancing right way. Its very important that you schedule your task in a hourly packages from morning to night and works in shifts rather than a job routine. The benefit of working a shifts is that your mind gets fresh and new ideas came into your mind which result in a good healthy profit.
Here are few Do’s and Don’ts of Freelancing and freelance tips.
Do’s:
Routine – Some of you might not agree with me about on time scheduling because none of us wants to be as disciplined as you might have in some regular job. But the principles for any type of work are same and that is time scheduling and daily routine. You cannot be a professional freelancer if you start your daily work in mid day or after wasting several hours in the morning. This is not going to help you because at morning your mind should be fresh and if you work at that time than you may get some positive results.
Hire some helper for you – At beginning you might not need the help of any body but after some time when you got some projects than you may find it difficult to handle the work and some times you lose work or projects due to miss management or time delay. You can hire any body from your friends to your family member or you can find some one online at some reasonable price.
Save Money for Future investment – Most of people when they start earning some money via freelancing tend to spend there money on useless and irrelevant places. This is where we comet mistake and waste our time and money. This is very important that you should save money for future when you might not get work or projects as frequently as you are now getting it. Also try to invest some money in other projects and try to start your own work like creating new websites or hiring some more writers etc.
Social Media is a must – You cannot work alone at home without any body’s support or help. Social media help you find more and more friends online which results in good healthy work environment. This way you can also stay aware of the latest inventions, news, rumors and what your friends are doing at the moment. You can find many new ideas and ways to find your solutions. Lots of people on internet find mentors which help them absolutely free of cost.
Choose Referrals – One of the best way to increase your earnings is to always find the way via referrals and freelance career. Now this works like if you want to buy a theme for your blog than its better to buy some body affiliate link rather than just buying directly. This way you can ask that person that when he or she will buy the theme than they use your affiliate link and hence you earn commission too.
Customer is always Right – There is a very famous quote that “Customer is always Right”. Now sometimes it happens in our life that our customers wants to complete the project the way they want. This is not bad at all but the problem is that they not understand the pro and cons of freelancing and this may not help you and their project at all.
Don’t:
Never stick for one Plan – In freelancing terms people say that never stick for one plan all the time. Like if you are selling a gag on Fiverr than at some stage your gig will old and unpopular so you have to find the new gig in order to carry on your work. You might be thinking that its good because you can get some rest but income wise its bad so you really have to plan accordingly.
Change the place of work – Almost all of us have work at home while be relax and try to change our moods when possible. Now one thing which is very interesting is that working from only one place is really killing your ideas and working potential. Also it badly damage your health because you are sitting all the time in front of the computer which is not good for your eyes and back. Normally professional freelancers often made two work desk at home. One is traditional desk with chair and table while other is a standing place where you can work for some hours while standing.
Take care of your health – It has been seen over the past few years that bloggers and freelancers are damaging their health badly wile try to earn money at home quickly. No doubt everyone likes to make money in a short period of time but the problem is that you will not get back your health.
Submit work in Chunks – One of the golden rules of submitting your project work is that never ever provide full project files to your client or never trust blindly on our customers because anyone can give you fraud at any time. So its better to only provide the basic concept and files of your work and after that provide chunks of files periodically and request for payment too. At the end you need to be sure for payment details and than submit your full work otherwise you may end up loosing your project and money.
Never feel the Pressure – There is a very famous quote that never feel the pressure infect give the tension to others. So if your client is asking too much from you them you can handle them politely and ask them that this is your task and you understand it better. But if some how they are not listening to you than you should take the things seriously and aggressively.
